Meet an individual artist, explore an art museum, purchase your new favorite piece from a gallery, take a class at a studio, connect at a community art center and more. The Alabama Arts Trail enables Alabama residents and state visitors to find, explore and experience the very best of what the Alabama art community has to offer. 

Stemming from the belief that art enriches everyone and should be accessible to all, the Trail is sponsored by the Alabama Visual Arts Network (ALVAN) – a champion of Alabama’s artists since 1968. ALVAN is committed to raising awareness and appreciation of the visual arts, and the role the arts play in the economic vitality and quality of life for every Alabamian. Recent Artists

  • Nick Cantrell

    Nick Cantrell endeavors to ignite new excitement in the viewer through his unique style of recording nature’s beauty by hand. His style is both detailed and loose.  Each piece is precision-drawn with specific detail, and subsequently layered with contrasting washes of batik-styled color resulting in an expressive painting.

  • Rave Armstead

    Raven Armstead, aka Rave of “Rave Sake Studios", is a self-studied traditional artist from Atlanta, GA, now Huntsville, AL based. She spends most of her time learning, crafting and sharing Fine Art pieces, prints, coloring books and murals that focus on expression, connection and flow.

  • Wade MacDonald

    Wade has exhibited work nationally and has completed artist residencies at Banff Centre, Anderson Ranch Art Center, Red Lodge Clay Center and Zentrum für Keramik. In 2018, Wade received the NCECA Emerging Artist award and was featured in American Craft Magazine's August/September 2018 Issue.
